About The Position

Floyd's 99 Barbershop is seeking a full-time Barber – Stylist for their Chicago, IL location. This role is for someone who is an artist, conversationalist, and vibe curator. The position offers uncapped commission starting at 40% and climbing to 55%, with a guaranteed minimum wage, ensuring the higher of the two is always paid. Performance is rewarded weekly. The average hourly earnings for Barbers and Stylists range from $30.25 to $49.25. The barbershop is described as a place where downtown Chicago style meets a fresh, modern vibe, focusing on creating experiences from sleek business cuts to creative fades in a fun, casual, passionate, supportive, and collaborative environment. The team is dedicated to helping individuals grow their cosmetology careers and express creativity.

Requirements

• Active Illinois barber or cosmetology license
• Passion for customer service and bringing joy to others
• Strong work ethic and a motivation to do an excellent job
• Reliability, punctuality, and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push, and pull 25 lbs.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Create bold cuts, color transformations, and classic shaves.
• Perform services such as lather neck shaves and shoulder massages.
• Maintain client satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
• Continuously improve skills and stay updated on industry trends.
