About The Position
This is a highly responsible and professional position serving as the Barber-Beautician II F/C in Forensic Services. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office. This role requires the use of independent judgment, a proactive approach to responsibilities, and exceptional attention to detail. Duties of this position require the incumbent to be knowledgeable of and utilize the principles of Total Quality Management.
Requirements
- Knowledge of haircutting, styling and trimming techniques.
- Knowledge of hair shampooing, conditioning and tinting techniques.
- Knowledge of barbering and/or cosmetology supplies and equipment.
- Skill in using shears, clippers and other hair-styling tools.
- Ability to cut, style, shampoo, color hair and other related barber or beauty care services.
- Ability to train people in beauty care or barbering techniques.
- Ability to coordinate work activities in a barber or beauty shop.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Completion of a program of study in cosmetology or barbering from a vocational/technical school and one year of experience as a beautician or barber.
- Valid Driver License
Nice To Haves
- Hold a current cosmetology license.
Responsibilities
- Administering Barber/Beautician services to all residents in Forensic Services.
- Performing skilled beautician services including, but not limited to, giving permanent waves, scalp and hair treatments, shampoos, hair cuts and other beauty treatments.
- Shaving of all males who are unable to shave themselves.
- Reporting any medical needs relating to Barber/Beautician duties.
- Responsible for the upkeep of the Beauty Shop.
- Cleaning and sanitizing all barber tools.
- Requisitioning necessary supplies and equipment and inventory of each.
- Responsible for proper security and sanitary storage of all supplies and equipment.
