About The Position

The Barback position at Crane Club Restaurant New York is responsible for stocking and re-stocking all bar inventories and supplies while maintaining the organization of the bar. This role assists bartenders and cocktail servers in all aspects of guest service, interacts with guests, team members, and supervisors politely and courteously to ensure gracious hospitality. The position involves anticipating and accommodating guest needs, providing professional and exceptional service, and helping to ensure the delivery of all food and beverage to guests. Maintaining general cleanliness of the bar, bar area, and the entire venue is crucial. The Barback must follow supervisor instructions, communicate with and support co-workers as a team player, and possess general knowledge of all food and beverage menus. Compliance with Department of Health and company sanitation standards is required. This role works as part of a team, providing help and support to all fellow team members. Specific duties include restocking, cleaning, and supporting service needs to ensure fast, high-quality bar operations. The Barback communicates guest needs to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support staff, managers, and chefs. They are responsible for properly setting up bar stations, performing side-work, and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including cleaning the bar area, setting up stations with proper equipment, wiping down surfaces, stocking stations, and preparing beverage garnishes. The role also includes emptying trash, maintaining back-of-house storage and refrigeration, organizing liquor displays, reporting equipment damage, and participating in daily pre-service meetings and training sessions. Learning by listening, observing, and sharing knowledge is expected, along with leading by example and portraying a positive and professional attitude. Demonstrating knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments is also part of the role, along with completing additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Min 1-year previous barback experience or equivalent related Tao Group Hospitality experience.
Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant/nightclub/lounge.
Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate.
Must have good positive energy throughout the day.
Must be able to print legibly for Team Members, management, and guests to read.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to move quickly.
Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance.
Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon the guest volume.
May work extended hours irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work may be required.
Exposure to cleaning materials.
Office, Casino, Nightclub, Bar, Lounge, and/or Restaurant working environment.
Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards.
Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.

Responsible for keeping clean and organized to company standard all back-of-house storage and refrigeration.
Responsible for keeping all liquor displays and shelving organized and maintaining par levels.
Responsible for reporting all breakage, and damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management.
Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings.
Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
