The Barback position involves stocking and re-stocking all bar inventories and supplies while maintaining the organization of the bar. This role assists bartenders and cocktail servers in all aspects of guest service and interacts with guests, team members, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. The Barback is responsible for anticipating and accommodating guest needs, providing professional and exceptional service, and helping to ensure the delivery of all food and beverage to guests. Maintaining general cleanliness of the bar, bar area, and the entire venue is crucial. The role requires following supervisor instructions, communicating with and supporting co-workers as a team player, and possessing general knowledge of all food and beverage menus. Compliance with Department of Health and company sanitation standards is mandatory. The Barback assists bartenders by restocking, cleaning, and supporting service needs to ensure fast, high-quality bar operations. They communicate guest needs to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House support staff, managers, and chefs. Responsibilities include properly setting up bar stations, performing side-work and other opening/closing procedures, cleaning the bar area, setting up the bar with proper equipment, wiping down surfaces, stocking bar stations, preparing beverage garnishes, completing opening and closing duties, emptying trash, organizing back-of-house storage and refrigeration, organizing liquor displays and shelving, reporting breakage and damage, and attending daily pre-service meetings and training sessions. The role involves learning by listening, observing, sharing knowledge, and leading by example, while portraying a positive and professional attitude and demonstrating knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and its partners.
