About The Position

The Barback assists the bartender with stocking, cleanliness, equipment handling, and maintenance. When needed, the role serves food and beverages to guests and service staff. The position supports teamwork and outstanding guest service, advocates for the bar and restaurant, creates personal guest experiences, and builds relationships that encourage guests to return. The role may also assist restaurant dining services when appropriate and take on responsibilities outside the job description as needed.

Requirements

Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certification, if applicable.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Ability to learn, retain, and present product, menu, and allergy information to guests.
Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point-of-sale system.
Hardworking and dedicated, with a genuine passion for hospitality.
Flexible schedule and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in a similar or supportive role is preferred.
Proficiency with restaurant inventory and invoicing software is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests.
Check service stations and tables for accurate setup and cleanliness.
Assist restaurant dining services when necessary and appropriate.
Perform bar sidework, setup, and breakdown.
Follow uniform and grooming specifications.
Clean and change trash cans; fill and clean ice bins; and stock beer, wine, juice, and other beverages.
Clean shelving, stainless steel, mixers, cups, blenders, and soda guns.
Unpack deliveries, stock the bar, and change beer kegs.
Notify a manager if a guest is becoming intoxicated or behaving rudely toward other guests.
Take on responsibilities outside the job description when needed.
