About The Position

The Bar Supervisor contributes to the success of Banff Hospitality Collective by supporting the Bar Manager and overseeing the operations of the bar, managing inventory based on demand and cost targets. Maintaining stock, avoiding extra carrying costs, and ensuring the bar is run in a smooth manner with focused priority on safety, drink quality, hospitality, and leadership are the primary responsibilities of the position.

Requirements

  • Passion and knowledge of mixology, and how to make traditional cocktails and create new ones
  • Ability to connect with people and build trusting relationships
  • Understanding of the importance of communication and workplace culture
  • Collaborative working style and team focus
  • Ability to work with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Flexible schedule required
  • Strong work ethic and a positive team player
  • ProServe certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year bartending experience is required
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

  • Supervisory or management experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Training and coaching bartenders, and building server product knowledge
  • Working alongside the bartenders, focusing on hospitality and positivity
  • Managing inventory volumes to business levels, and ensuring ordering, receiving, storing, and processing invoices are completed promptly
  • Creating, training, and maintaining a drinks menu that is well-suited to the food menu, that evolves seasonally and with trends, ensures a good guest experience and maximizes sales
  • Enforcing sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of the bar area
  • Ensuring compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/provincial /local laws, and ordinances
  • Maintaining professional restaurant image, including bar cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to BHC brand and team culture
