About The Position

The Bar Porter is responsible for completing opening and closing duties, which include setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, and ensuring doors are locked. They will check with their captain or supervisor before leaving at the end of their shift. The role involves setting up, stocking, and maintaining work areas, including stocking ice, glassware, and paper supplies. Additionally, the Bar Porter will remove soiled wares from the bar top and tables, and maintain the cleanliness and condition of work areas, the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools according to set-up guidelines. This position requires adherence to all company and safety/security policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, and completing safety training. The role also involves ensuring a clean and professional appearance, maintaining confidentiality, protecting company assets, and welcoming guests according to company standards. The Bar Porter will anticipate and address guest service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with appreciation. Communication should be clear and professional. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships and supporting team goals are essential. The role requires adherence to quality expectations and standards, reading and visually verifying information, and the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, grasping and manipulating objects of varying size and weight with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, moving over uneven surfaces and stairs, and reaching overhead and below the knees with bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors may also be performed.
