About The Position
Our bar isn't background noise, it's the heartbeat of the room. As bar back, you keep that heartbeat steady: stocked, clean, fast, ready. You'll work shoulder to shoulder with bartenders who treat cocktails like craft, in a space built by and for Asheville's creative community. The Radical is a launchpad, not a landing spot. Plenty of our bartenders started right here, backing the bar. You'll learn the craft from people who take it seriously, in a River Arts District hotel that pulls its energy from local artists, makers, and neighbors. Expect loud nights, good music, and a crew that has your back.
Requirements
- A fast pace and a level head when the room gets loud
- Genuine hustle and pride in the small details
- Comfort lifting kegs and cases, standing for a full shift
- A team-first attitude, no ego required
- Sunday Availability necessary
Nice To Haves
- Curiosity about the craft
- Bar experience is a plus but not a must
Responsibilities
- Keep the bar stocked, ice full, and garnishes prepped before the rush hits
- Bus and reset the bar top so bartenders never break stride
- Run drinks, glassware, and supplies between bar and floor
- Break down kegs, restock coolers, and manage backstock with a sharp eye
- Jump in on deep cleans and closing duties as a real teammate, not an afterthought
