About The Position
The Bar Back is responsible for receiving liquor, beer, and wine from the storeroom daily and replenishing these items at the bar throughout the shift. This role also involves retrieving food and beverage items from the kitchen and storerooms, setting up the bar with liquor bottles, ensuring beer taps are functional, stocking bar snacks and napkins, assisting with opening and closing duties, bussing tables in the bar area, maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar and lounge areas, removing rubbish, and preparing and serving beverages to assist the bartender. - Must be able to receive liquor, beer and wine from storeroom.
- Must be able to replenish liquor, beer and wine at the bar.
- Must be able to retrieve food and beverage items.
- Must be able to set up liquor bottles.
- Must be able to ensure beer taps are working.
- Must be able to stock bar snacks and napkins.
- Must be able to assist with opening and closing duties.
- Must be able to bus tables.
- Must be able to maintain cleanliness of bar and lounge areas.
- Must be able to wash work tables, walls, refrigerators, and floors.
- Must be able to sweep and mop service areas.
- Must be able to remove rubbish.
- Must be able to prepare and serve beverages.
- Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Receives all liquor, beer and wine from storeroom on a daily basis and as needed.
- Replenishes all liquor, beer and wine as needed in the bar throughout the shift.
- Retrieves all needed food items from kitchen and delivers to bar area.
- Retrieves all needed beverage items and garnishes from storerooms and delivers to bar area.
- Sets up bottles on bar with 'top shelf' liquor on back shelf.
- Ensures beer taps are working properly.
- Places appropriate bar snacks on counter; keeps supplies, such as snacks and napkins, stocked throughout shift.
- Assists in opening and closing side work as assigned.
- Buses tables in bar area.
- Helps ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the bar or lounge areas; washes work tables, walls, refrigerators and floors under equipment; sweeps and mops service areas, including floor mats.
- Ensures rubbish is removed from all receptacles.
- Prepares and serves beverages as needed to assist bartender.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
