Banquets Server - On Call
About The Position
The Banquets Server is responsible for setting up catering events and banquet rooms, and serving food and beverages in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner according to Trump National Doral - Miami’s high standards of service. This role involves assisting with event setup, polishing service items, greeting guests, providing efficient food and beverage service, handling guest concerns, and performing assigned side work. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to meet business needs. Regular attendance is essential, and associates with irregular attendance may face disciplinary action. The position also requires providing "Lateral Service" to support other operations and ensure customer satisfaction when called upon, unless it would result in guest dissatisfaction, in which case a leader should be notified.
Requirements
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
- Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
- Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the resort.
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
- Ability to accurately describe all menu items, including ingredients on the BEO.
- Ability to operate beverage equipment, eg., coffee maker, iced tea machine, espresso machine.
- ServSafe Food Handlers Certification required.
- Alcohol Compliance Responsible Vendors Certificate required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior hospitality experience preferred.
- CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set up banquet room as instructed by Banquet Leader to include linen, service-ware and glassware.
- Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and resort expectations.
- Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Serve food and beverages in the order and to the expectation of the Banquet Leader to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
- Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal and function.
- Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
- Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Captain's specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.
- Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking banquet shelves with supplies.
- Perform general cleaning tasks using standard resort cleaning products, as assigned to adhere to health standards.
- Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
