About The Position

The Banquets Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences during events and functions held at various venues. This position is responsible for ensuring that guests receive attentive, courteous, and efficient service throughout the duration of banquets, weddings, conferences, and other special occasions. The Banquets Server collaborates closely with kitchen staff, event coordinators, and other service team members to maintain smooth operations and uphold high standards of hospitality. Success in this role results in satisfied guests, positive event feedback, and the seamless execution of food and beverage service. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in banquet or event settings.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills daily to interact with guests, understand their needs, and provide attentive service that enhances their event experience.
  • Organizational skills are essential for setting up banquet rooms accurately and managing multiple tables efficiently during service.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity are required to carry trays, serve food and beverages, and maintain a fast-paced workflow without compromising quality.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills enable the server to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and attention to detail help maintain a clean, safe environment and uphold the venue's standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
  • Experience working in a high-volume banquet or catering environment.
  • Knowledge of formal dining service techniques and etiquette.
  • Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
  • Basic knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems and order taking.

Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and place settings.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously to guests during events, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a professional and timely manner to enhance their experience.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate the timely delivery of menu items and maintain service flow.
  • Clear tables and clean banquet areas efficiently after events, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Assist in inventory management by reporting supply needs and ensuring proper handling of service equipment.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff.
