Requirements

  • Demonstrated skills in menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or catering setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety regulations, and kitchen equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices for meal preparation and food safety standards.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly valued.
  • Experience with catering services or serving large groups is a plus.
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to banquet menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients to streamline kitchen operations.
  • Follow all food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination.
  • Support the culinary team during meal preparation by executing cooking techniques with precision, including knife skills and cooking methods.
  • Organize and set up banquet stations efficiently, ensuring all necessary tools, utensils, and ingredients are ready for service.
  • Collaborate with chefs and catering staff to coordinate meal assembly and presentation for large events or functions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment by adhering to sanitation standards throughout the shift.
