About The Position

Responsible for ensuring operations of the venue, on an assigned shift, and employee performances are in accordance with policy and procedures and gaming regulations. This role involves preparing assignments for staff, conducting shift lineups, inspecting uniforms, and greeting hosts for assigned events. The supervisor will work closely with the Sales and Catering Manager to plan events, ensure cleanliness of the front and back of the house, and possess knowledge of menu items to explain ingredients and preparation methods. The position also requires preparing Supervisor Reports, promoting excellent customer service, determining when guests should not be served alcohol, using a cash register or point of sale system, resolving guest complaints, and notifying supervisors of any unusual events or alleged thefts. The role includes attending staff meetings, implementing policies, maintaining communication with the administrative team, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and beverage laws, assisting with scheduling and staffing, monitoring job performance, providing feedback, and making recommendations for hiring, discipline, and promotions. The supervisor must maintain professional grooming and appearance, act as a role model, and handle guest comments to their satisfaction. Knowledge of local gaming laws and internal controls is essential. The role also promotes an atmosphere of fun, mutual respect, dignity, and integrity among employees, encouraging idea sharing, conflict resolution, and employee retention through training and development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • One to three years related supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Appropriate licenses, as required.
  • Alcohol Awareness Training, ServSafe® certification, or ability to become certified, required.
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards required.
  • This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to write effective reports and memos.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 lb.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare assignments for staff assigned to each event, including set-up, reception, event tear-down and side work.
  • Conduct lineups with the staff at the start of each shift, inspecting uniforms, reviewing assignments, and steps of service.
  • Greet host (on-site contact) for assigned event(s) and stay in contact throughout the event(s).
  • Work closely with Sales and Catering Manager and Sales Coordinator to plan all events.
  • Ensure front and back of the house are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served.
  • Prepares Supervisors Reports, detailing the function and comments of the Host (on-site contact).
  • Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all Four Winds guests.
  • Determines when a guest should not be served additional alcoholic beverages in accordance with Four Winds policies.
  • Uses a cash register or point of sale system as needed.
  • Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management.
  • Notifies supervisor and/or security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items or alleged thefts.
  • Attends all staff meetings as required by management.
  • Implements and maintains Four Winds policies and procedures.
  • Maintains close communication and works cooperatively with Sales and Catering Manager, the rest of the administrative team and co-workers to ensure consistency of services and the highest quality of operation.
  • Ensures compliance with all health and safety standards/regulations as well as all applicable beverage, federal, state and local laws/ordinances.
  • Assists Banquet Manager with scheduling of employees and ensuring correct staffing levels and adjustments are made in accordance with event and guest needs.
  • Monitors job performance of all venue employees and provides feedback on same to aid the employees in developing and enhancing skills.
  • Provides input to the Banquet Manager concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of improvement.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations and suggestions to hire, suspend, transfer, promote, evaluate, discipline all employees in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Maintains professional grooming and appearance and acts as a role model according to established grooming and appearance policy.
  • Listens to, evaluates and handles guest comments in a way that satisfies the guest to their satisfaction.
  • Maintains knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations as well as internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Creates an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
  • Encourages mutual respect, dignity and integrity with all employees, by setting positive examples at all times.
  • Instills an atmosphere that encourages employees to share ideas, discuss concerns and resolve conflicts.
  • Retains employees through involvement in training and development.
