About The Position

Responsible for ensuring operations of the venue, on an assigned shift, and employee performances are in accordance with policy and procedures and gaming regulations. This role involves preparing assignments for staff, conducting shift lineups, interacting with hosts, and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of both front and back of the house operations. The supervisor must have a thorough knowledge of menus, promote excellent customer service, manage guest complaints, and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and beverage regulations. Additionally, the position assists with employee scheduling, monitors job performance, provides feedback, and contributes to operational improvements. The role also involves making recommendations for hiring, discipline, and promotion, while acting as a role model for professional grooming and appearance. A key aspect is maintaining knowledge of local gaming laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • One to three years related supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Appropriate licenses, as required.
  • Alcohol Awareness Training, ServSafe® certification, or ability to become certified, required.
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards required.
  • Requires a Level 4 Gaming License.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to write effective reports and memos.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 lb.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare assignments for staff for each event, including set-up, reception, tear-down, and side work.
  • Conduct lineups with staff at the start of each shift to inspect uniforms, review assignments, and discuss steps of service.
  • Greet and maintain contact with the host (on-site contact) for assigned events.
  • Work closely with Sales and Catering Manager and Sales Coordinator to plan events.
  • Ensure front and back of the house are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Prepare Supervisors Reports detailing the function and comments from the Host.
  • Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service.
  • Determine when a guest should not be served additional alcoholic beverages.
  • Use a cash register or point of sale system as needed.
  • Resolve guest complaints within the scope of authority or refer to management.
  • Notify supervisor and/or security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged thefts.
  • Attend all staff meetings as required.
  • Implement and maintain company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain close communication and cooperation with the Sales and Catering Manager, administrative team, and co-workers.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards/regulations and applicable beverage, federal, state, and local laws/ordinances.
  • Assist Banquet Manager with employee scheduling and ensuring correct staffing levels.
  • Monitor job performance of all venue employees and provide feedback.
  • Provide input to the Banquet Manager concerning operational deficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Review and make recommendations for hiring, suspension, transfer, promotion, evaluation, and discipline of employees.
  • Maintain professional grooming and appearance and act as a role model.
  • Listen to, evaluate, and handle guest comments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws and attendant regulations, internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Create an atmosphere of fun for all casino guests.
  • Encourage mutual respect, dignity, and integrity with all employees.
  • Instill an atmosphere that encourages employees to share ideas, discuss concerns, and resolve conflicts.
  • Retain employees through involvement in training and development.
  • Explain operational procedures in advance.
