About The Position

The Banquet Utility Worker role is responsible for the set-up, service, and breakdown of all catering operations at The Bohlin, a seasonal wedding and event destination in Newport, RI. The Bohlin offers a unique backdrop with its dockside terrace, surrounded by sailboats and luxury yachts, embodying the historic character of Newport's waterfront with a coastal chic design. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth and successful event execution.

Requirements

Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
Must have weekend availability through October
Must be at least 18 years old
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift and move 25-75 pounds
Ability to read event orders and floorplans
Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships

Responsibilities

Set-up, clean, maintain and breakdown events
Move, clean, repair and store all equipment, chairs, tables and linen
Maintain cleanliness of all function and storage space

Maintain a clean and organized work area as well as storage areas
