About The Position

The Hilton Chicago is looking for their next Banquet Steward! A Banquet Steward collects all service ware and allocates it in accordance with the banquet event order to supply the function. They remove service ware following the event to ensure proper cleanup.

Requirements

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes AM, PM, weekends and holidays.
• Closing shifts will be from 6pm - 3am.

Responsibilities

• Remove and sort dishes and silverware, scrape excess food, and stack dishes orderly.
• Rinse, organize and keep the cook area clean.
• Manually feed dishes through the dish machine, remove and stack dishes and silverware at the completion of the cleaning cycle.
• Prepare machine for cleaning and operate the machine manually, following proper procedures.
• Visually inspect all dishes and silverware for cleanliness.
• Store equipment in the appropriate storage areas and in the correct manner.
• Maintain all areas of food and beverage, sanitizing with adherence to city, state, and hotel standards.
• Keep all areas clean and safe from hazardous materials and garbage.
• Pick up garbage, breakdown boxes and send to the recycling room.
• Clean out garbage cans and gondolas, reline with trash liners.
• Operate the burnishing machine and manually feed silverware through the machine.
• Visually inspect all silverware for proper finish.
• Use proper chemicals for silver maintenance.
