About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Banquets Captain and Banquets Manager, the Banquet Setup team member is responsible for ensuring function rooms, conference spaces, and related areas are clean, organized, properly equipped, and professionally set for weddings, meetings, conferences, and special events. This is an important behind-the-scenes role that helps ensure every event runs smoothly and every guest enjoys an exceptional experience.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Ability to read and recognize basic words, numbers, and written instructions
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must be dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment and assist with the physical demands of event setup and breakdown

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and accurately complete event setups
  • Prepare function rooms and conference areas according to event specifications
  • Maintain function rooms, conference areas, and storage spaces in a clean and organized condition
  • Return equipment to its proper storage location in clean and ready-to-use condition
  • Service and refresh meeting rooms during event breaks
  • Check room temperatures and ensure lighting is functioning properly and appropriately adjusted
  • Assist the Banquet team as needed, including food running, bussing, and buffet breakdown
  • Assist with inventories of banquet equipment and supplies
  • Identify and eliminate potential safety hazards
  • Report broken or damaged equipment through Engineering’s Work Order Program
  • Support the Banquets team in maintaining the high standards of Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa
