About The Position

As a key member of the Stanley Park Pavilion banquet team, the Banquet Server plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest and food service during weddings and corporate events. Responsibilities include event setup and teardown, plated and buffet-style meal service, and wine service. Banquet Servers ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, adhere to proper food handling procedures, and efficiently clear tables. Additional duties include following opening and closing procedures while creating a seamless and memorable experience for guests.

Requirements

• Minimum one-year prior banquet serving experience
• Must have current Serving It Right certification
• Must have excellent people skills with a positive & upbeat personality
• Professionally groomed appearance

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in the food service industry is considered an asset
• Previous experience with cashier and/or POS considered an asset
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional guest service by providing product knowledge, beverage recommendations, and insights about the local area
• Support event operations including setup and teardown of banquet spaces, ceremony areas, and side lawn events
• Execute table service duties such as setting tables, serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth service and address guest needs or concerns
• Promote a safe and professional work environment by following food safety protocols, health and safety procedures, and dress code standards
• Collaborate across departments to foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere and support Capilano Group initiatives
• Maintain awareness of company offerings and actively promote attractions during events
• Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to overall operational success
