About The Position

The Banquet Server serves guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods. This includes each selection’s, origin, taste, and preparation method. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and wine and exceptional service. Responsibilities include offering pre-determined menu selections to each table, communicating guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Banquet Manager or kitchen, and transporting items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality. The server will greet guests in a professional manner and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. Additionally, the role involves assisting in the set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order, plating, preparing, and serving food, and assisting with the set-up and breakdown of banquet events. Other tasks or projects as assigned by management may also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • Legal work authorization in the United States required

Nice To Haves

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities. This will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Preferred experience in a luxury hotel in food and beverage service
  • Strong oral presentation skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions regarding events
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume and demanding environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations
