About The Position

To service all banquet events maintaining the highest quality service standards established for The Biltmore. This position requires consistent adherence to policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP’S).

Requirements

  • High School diploma is preferred
  • None required
  • Must be able to: Speak, read, write and understand the English language. Spanish fluency is desired.
  • Compute accurate mathematical calculations.
  • Provide legible communication and directions.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Prioritize and organize.

  • Must be able to: Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Use, carry, and operate all necessary office equipment using finger dexterity.
  • Communicate with employees, managers, subordinates and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Adapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Most work tasks are performed indoors.
  • Food safety certification.
  • Alcohol Awareness certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish fluency is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work on time in proper uniform.
  • Check board to ensure the location of the room to work in.
  • Review copy of BEO with Captain during line up.
  • Set up china, glass and silverware according to established guidelines in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare side station for service.
  • Provide exceptional service during the service of meals, observing the Captains signals.
  • Provide continuous attention to details before, during and after the service of the meal.
  • Ensure all guests receive a memorable experience from their stay at the hotel.
  • Complete all assigned side work duties in a timely manner.
  • Follow proper clearing and cleanup procedure.
  • Follow proper handling of hotel equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times observing all safety rules.
  • Follow proper beverage handling procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned
