About The Position

Performs various duties necessary in the preparation or service of food. This is the first in a series of four classifications and is distinguished from the Dining Service Attendant, Senior in that incumbents do not have lead responsibilities. This class typically reports to Dining Service Supervisor or Cook Lead. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards.
Skills in using cleaning products and equipment.

Responsibilities

Set-up banquet rooms and events as assigned including pre-event set-up, service and clean up of all assigned functions.
Serve food and beverage according to the Banquet Event Order, ensuring all event meet or exceed client expectations.
Maintain proper food and beverage presentation.
Work to ensure guest satisfaction.
Scrapes and sorts dirty dishes, silverware and glassware and operates dishwashing machines.
Maintains cleanliness of dining room and kitchen areas; sweeps, mops and vacuums floors; cleans dishes from tables and cleans dining room tables and chairs.
Responsible for cleaning of employee and public restrooms and operates power cleaning equipment.
Operates and cleans food service equipment.
Inventories area and completes required forms.
Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work area.
Additional duties as assigned.
