About The Position

The Banquet Server House Attendant is responsible for serving food and drinks to banquet guests over multiple courses, maintaining the service standards set by management. This role also involves assisting with all stages of banquet functions, from setup to breakdown. The position requires cleaning and setting up meeting rooms and banquet areas according to specifications, vacuuming floors, cleaning walls, and maintaining cleanliness of windows and mirrors. Responsibilities include proper storage of meeting room supplies, servicing rooms by emptying trash, removing used dishes and linens, and replacing them as needed. The attendant will also straighten chairs, replenish water, clear tables, and return equipment to its designated areas. Serving food and beverages during events, answering questions about menus, and checking the readiness of china, glassware, silverware, and linen are key duties. Staying informed about upcoming groups and conventions, reading banquet menus, and ensuring correct food temperature and placement are also important. The role demands professional and courteous guest assistance, maintaining clean and organized service corridors, pre-function spaces, and storage areas. Additionally, the attendant will deliver convention materials, participate in deep cleaning, ensure service corridor safety, and immediately attend to spills and breakages following safety procedures. Other duties include organization, general cleaning, inventory, and any other tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable about basic function of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently.
  • Exceptionally strong in issue resolution and proven analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of table and bar service.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Ability to describe all menu items and methods of preparation.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • 1 to 3 years of high-volume banquet service experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food certification required.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Azul Hospitality, from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Staff with irregular attendance / tardiness will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Upon employment, all staff is required to fully comply with Azul Hospitality rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotels facilities.
  • Staff members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, staff members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Responsibilities

  • Checks all china, glassware, glassware, silverware, and linen items needed for the event.
  • Be aware of all upcoming groups and major conventions.
  • Read all assigned banquet menus and ask if specific items are unclear.
  • Ensure that food is served at the appropriate temperature, and that the entrée is placed properly on table.
  • Responsible for the proper handling of all equipment, i.e., china, glassware, silverware, linen, and props, ensuring proper storage after use.
  • Assist all guests professionally and courteously, with the highest quality of standards for customer service.
  • Keeps service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized and unobstructed.
  • Upon customer request, locates and delivers convention material to designated location.
  • Participate in the deep cleaning of the outlet.
  • Ensures service corridor safety by transporting all equipment in the proper manner.
  • Ensures that all spills and breakage are attended to immediately and proper safety procedures are followed.
  • Perform other related duties, including organization, general cleaning, and inventory.
  • All other duties assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • Assist with any guest inquiry.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by direct and indirect Supervisors.
