About The Position

The Banquet Manager leads the daily execution of banquet functions at Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui. The role plans, organizes, and executes events including breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, and galas, while ensuring memorable guest experiences and high-quality event operations. The manager oversees room setup and breakdown, coordinates event details with relevant departments, and supervises and develops team members. Full availability is essential because operations are driven by group and event schedules.

Responsibilities

• Bring an upbeat and friendly attitude to guest interactions and proactively look for ways to make guests’ experiences special.
• Plan, organize, and execute banquet events, including breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, and galas.
• Oversee function-room setup and ensure linens, silverware, glassware, and chinaware meet event specifications and quality standards.
• Communicate event specifications, procedures, and updates to teams in Food and Beverage, Event Services, Property Operations, Audio Visual, and Housekeeping.
• Ensure function rooms are properly broken down and equipment is correctly stored for the next event.
• Supervise and support team members, monitor performance, provide coaching, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations.
