About The Position

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking an energetic and passionate individual with a strong desire to learn and grow their culinary talents to join their Culinary team at The Hanover Inn. This role involves assisting the culinary team in the production and fabrication of food products for various outlets including the kitchen, cafeteria, banquets, dining room, and fine dining. The ideal candidate will be motivated, creative, and eager to work in a professional kitchen environment, developing skills in various cooking procedures and methods while maintaining a sanitized and orderly workspace.

Requirements

  • Active Food handler’s certification or the ability to get it.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
  • Requires strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Have a desire to exceed expectations.
  • An energetic personality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté and fry).
  • Gain experience using knives and various kitchen equipment.
  • Read and recreate recipes.
  • Ensure consistency in all food preparation.
  • Prepare cold items, salads, simple side items, simple appetizers, and more.
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and more.
  • Assist by taking inventory of ingredients to ensure proper par and stock levels.
  • Mix and prepare cold sauces, meat glazes, jellies, salad dressings, and stuffings.
  • Learn how to minimize food waste through cross utilization.
  • Work with a world-class culinary team.
  • Create workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Be responsible for the quality of ingredients.
