About The Position

The St. James Hotel is an iconic, boutique hotel providing modern conveniences, yet steeped in rich history and Victorian charm. The Hotel offers luxurious amenities and culinary delights delivered by remarkable hospitality professionals. We are seeking a skilled Banquet Line Cook to join our culinary team at the St. James Hotel. In this role, you will support the Chef in preparing, cooking, and executing high-quality dishes for banquets, events, and large-scale functions. Requirements

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
  • Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.
  • Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.
  • Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all foods for banquet events according to event orders, recipes, and sanitation standards.
  • Cook hot and cold food items efficiently, ensuring consistent quality for large-volume service.
  • Assist with banquet setup, final plating, and presentation, including proper garnishing for all dishes.
  • Ensure accurate portioning and timely execution of all menu items for events of varying sizes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and prep area throughout all stages of service.
  • Communicate effectively with the Chef and banquet team to ensure smooth, coordinated execution of events.
  • Address guest needs or concerns professionally to support an exceptional banquet experience.
