About The Position

The Banquet Houseperson sets up, breaks down, and maintains the cleanliness and presentation of banquet spaces according to hotel standards. The role supports the banquet team in executing meetings, weddings, conferences, and other events. It is a physically demanding, fast-paced position involving event turnovers, frequent lifting and moving of furniture and equipment, and exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying noise levels.

Requirements

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and work independently.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in banquets, events, or hospitality.

Responsibilities

Set up banquet rooms according to banquet event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, and audio/visual equipment.
Break down and clean banquet spaces after events and return items to proper storage.
Ensure equipment and supplies are clean, functional, and properly stored.
Maintain the cleanliness of banquet areas and back-of-house spaces.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest and client requests during events.
Collaborate with the Banquet Captain and team members to support smooth event execution.
Inspect banquet equipment regularly and report damage or maintenance needs.
Follow hotel policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation standards.
Assist with other hotel functions and departments as needed during slow periods.
