About The Position

The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for setting up and breaking down banquet rooms according to event orders, ensuring all meeting and event spaces are arranged with precision, cleanliness, and attention to detail. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of banquet areas and storage rooms, assisting in transporting equipment, and collaborating closely with banquet servers, captains, and event managers for smooth event execution. The Houseperson must also respond promptly to last-minute changes or guest requests and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects (tables, chairs, equipment)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow setup diagrams and instructions
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-standard environment
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Previous banquet, hospitality, or event setup experience preferred
  • Experience in luxury hotels or upscale event venues
  • Basic knowledge of event service flow and banquet operations
  • Professional appearance and demeanor aligned with luxury hospitality standards
  • Ability to anticipate needs and adapt quickly during live events

Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms according to event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, and décor
  • Ensure all meeting and event spaces are arranged with precision, cleanliness, and attention to detail
  • Break down and reset rooms quickly and efficiently following events
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, storage rooms, and service corridors
  • Assist in transporting equipment, furniture, and supplies throughout the property
  • Work closely with banquet servers, captains, and event managers to ensure smooth execution of events
  • Respond promptly to last-minute changes or guest requests during events
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report maintenance needs
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and hotel operational standards
