About The Position

The Banquet Houseman plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and success of banquet events by providing essential support to the banquet service team. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, setting up and breaking down banquet rooms, and assisting with the timely delivery of supplies and equipment. The Banquet Houseman works closely with banquet servers, supervisors, and other staff to create a welcoming and efficient environment for guests. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under time constraints are critical to meeting event standards and guest expectations. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall guest experience by supporting seamless event execution and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Basic understanding of safety and sanitation standards in a hospitality environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical stamina and organizational skills daily to set up and break down event spaces efficiently, ensuring all elements meet event specifications.
  • Communication skills are essential for coordinating with banquet servers and supervisors to respond promptly to event needs and guest requests.

Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and equipment.
  • Assist in the delivery and removal of food, beverages, and supplies during events to support banquet servers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, including cleaning tables, floors, and service stations before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure all banquet equipment and supplies are properly stored and accounted for after events.
  • Collaborate with banquet team members to address any immediate needs or issues during events to ensure guest satisfaction.
