About The Position

The Banquet Houseman Supervisor is responsible for overseeing banquet houseman staff, ensuring that banquet rooms are set up and refreshed according to standards. This role involves assigning duties, investigating complaints, performing cleaning duties, and making recommendations for service improvement. The position requires strong leadership, customer service, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage change. The supervisor must also adhere to hotel policies, ethical standards, and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least one (1) year of customer service experience.
  • At least 1-year previous experience as a Banquet Houseman Supervisor in a luxury hotel.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate in English with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other associates of the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.

  • Obtains list of rooms to be set up and list of rooms needing refresh to prepare work assignments.
  • Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
