About The Position

The Banquet Houseman plays a critical role in creating exceptional guest experiences by ensuring banquet facilities are clean, well-prepared, and set up according to event specifications. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork to support the success of meetings, weddings, conferences, and special events at Hilton Long Island.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability on nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous hospitality or banquet setup experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet rooms, ballrooms, and meeting spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and Hilton brand standards.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, linens, staging, dance floors, and audiovisual equipment as directed.
  • Ensure all meeting and banquet areas are clean, organized, and ready prior to guest arrival.
  • Break down and reset rooms quickly and efficiently following events.
  • Assist banquet servers and catering staff with event-related needs such as replenishing supplies, water service, and room refreshes.
  • Maintain cleanliness in back-of-house areas including storage rooms and service corridors.
  • Safely handle and move furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to guests and fellow team members at all times.
  • Adhere to all Hilton brand, safety, and sanitation policies.
