The Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel is seeking a creative and skilled On-Call Banquet Food Server and Banquet Set-up to join its fun-spirited team! The hotel features 253 guest rooms, on-site dining at LARS Restaurant & Bar, an indoor Junior Olympic-sized pool, a fitness center, and more than 4,300 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. Requirements

Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
Basic knowledge of the English language is sufficient to understand customers' inquiries and communicate simple instructions.
Ability to comprehend and apply written product-labeling instructions to apply products and processes within the hotel safely.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote various menu items.
Ability to continuously transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room throughout the shift.
Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.
Ability to obtain any government-required licenses or certificates.
Must be flexible with scheduling for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Previous hospitality experience preferred.
Additional language ability preferred.
CPR Certification and First Aid training are preferred.

Responsibilities

Set up the banquet room as instructed by the Banquet Captain, including linen, service ware, and glassware.
Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.
Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
Serve the food and beverages in order and according to the banquet captain's expectations to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and meal at the end of the meal or function.
Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
Once the banquet is complete, reset the banquet room according to the Captain’s specifications to ensure its readiness for the following function.
Perform all assigned side-work, including replenishing condiments and restocking banquet shelves with supplies.
Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned, to adhere to health standards.
Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations about serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
Flexible with scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
