About The Position

Hilton is hiring a full-time Banquet Cook at the Waldorf Astoria Washington DC, located in the historic Old Post Office on Pennsylvania Avenue. The hotel has 263 rooms, 38,000 square feet of event space, two restaurants, and three bars. This position is part of Local 25 Union and requires full schedule availability with no restrictions. Full-time hours are not guaranteed; scheduling and hours vary based on seniority and business needs and may be minimal until seniority is established. The candidate should be comfortable with hours and schedules that may change from week to week. Medical insurance coverage is available for the employee and family.

Requirements

• Two years of cooking experience.
• Full schedule flexibility and availability with no restrictions.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure as part of a team.
• Comfort with schedules and hours that may vary from week to week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Manage guest orders efficiently while ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, handle complex recipes, and oversee stations, execution, quality control, and inventory checks.
• Inspect preparations and dishes before serving to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards.
• Keep food service stations stocked and sanitary while following food handling, storage, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate timing and plating; manage or direct cooks during shifts; and assist with inventory checks, ordering, shift briefings, and special features.
• Comply with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations.
