Job Purpose The Banquet Cook is responsible for preparing and executing food production for banquets, events, and high-volume service while supporting kitchen leadership in maintaining quality standards, food safety compliance, and efficient kitchen operations. This role works closely with the Chef and culinary team to ensure banquet menus are executed accurately and on schedule. The Banquet Cook may assist in a variety of kitchen functions and stations as needed to support overall kitchen operations and guest service.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of cooking experience in a banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen environment preferred
  • Experience with large-batch food preparation and event service preferred
  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet event timelines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook banquet menu items according to recipes, event specifications, and brand standards
  • Assist with large-scale food preparation for events, banquets, tournaments, and special functions
  • Set up and break down banquet production stations efficiently before and after service
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to quality and portion standards
  • Coordinate with the Chef, Kitchen Manager, and event team to ensure timely food service for scheduled events
  • Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, marinating, and assembling dishes
  • Support kitchen operations by working various stations as needed, including line, prep, dish, or other production areas as directed by the Chef or General Manager
  • Monitor food safety, sanitation, and proper storage procedures
  • Assist with inventory rotation, prep lists, and kitchen organization
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations and equipment throughout service
  • Support smooth kitchen operations during high-volume service periods
  • Uphold safety standards and proper use of kitchen tools and equipment
  • Contribute to a professional and team-oriented kitchen culture
