Requirements

  • 3+ years of culinary experience in banquet, catering, hotel, restaurant, or event operations
  • Experience preparing food for large groups
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple events in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Hotel banquet experience
  • Hilton or Marriott brand experience
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Experience with weddings, conferences, and catered events

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all culinary production for banquet and catered events while ensuring every meal is prepared with consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Prepare and execute menus for weddings, meetings, conferences, holiday parties, and special events.
  • Coordinate food production for plated meals, buffets, receptions, and banquet functions.
  • Ensure food is prepared on time, presented professionally, and meets quality standards.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and coordinate production with the banquet team.
  • Supervise banquet cooks and prep staff.
  • Coach and train team members on recipes, food quality, and presentation.
  • Foster a positive, team-focused work environment.
  • Assist with scheduling based on event volume.
  • Ensure every event exceeds guest expectations.
  • Work closely with Banquet Operations and Sales to execute events flawlessly.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail throughout service.
  • Monitor food quality and portion control.
  • Assist with ordering and inventory management.
  • Minimize waste while maintaining product quality.
  • Help achieve department financial goals.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized, and inspection-ready.
  • Maintain safe food handling and storage practices.
