About The Position

Ensures consistency and the highest level of service by training and developing staff and executing the requirements of events based on catering service standards. Provide support to the Banquet Manager to obtain the department’s goals of outstanding beverage service quality, exceptional team, and expected accounting results. Assist in beverage related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a cooperative team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow associates.
  • To receive function assignments and discuss any last minute changes with Manager
  • To inspect all public areas (foyer, assembly areas, restrooms) for cleanliness and pleasing appearance.
  • Perform all other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
  • Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures (PPM, Core Deliverables, SOPs, LSOPs, etc.).
  • Communicates and executes departmental and hotel emergency procedures and ensures staff are trained in safety procedures.
  • Maintain required par levels
  • Supervise rotation of all beverage/minibar items
  • Enforce and supervise all sanitation levels are maintained within the coolers and dry storage
  • Review forecast for upcoming weeks/periods in order to maintain the Beverage cost budget
  • Ensures minimum waste of Food & Beverage items
  • Responsible for receiving and storing all Beverage/Mini Bar items
  • Responsible for properly dating and rotating all items using FIFO system
  • Attend BEO meetings
  • Have working knowledge of JW Marriott purchasing specs to ensure quality
  • Check invoice on goods received against shipments to ensure quality, quantity, and purchase specs are as ordered
  • Ensure proper safeguards are in effect to maintain security of the beverage storeroom assets
  • Maintain accurate controllable log of beverages, minibars, and perpetual inventory
  • Maintain and update railroad cleaning schedule
  • Maintain all aspects of the self-audit on a daily basis
  • Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with associates. Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Ensures associate awareness of the event phase portion of the Meeting Planner Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores.
  • Reviews quarterly Meeting Planner Survey and participates in the development and implementation of corrective action to address service challenges; focuses on continuous improvement of guest satisfaction.
