About The Position

The Denver Athletic Club is seeking an on-call Banquet Captain to manage event preparations, coordinate staff, and ensure events run smoothly according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). This role involves overseeing event timelines, liaising with vendors, conducting pre-shift meetings, and executing events with a focus on customer service. The Banquet Captain must be adaptable and willing to step into various banquet roles as needed.

Requirements

• Banquet experience in a supervisory role
• Ability to learn or prior knowledge of A/V
• Experience with supervising multiple events simultaneously
• Ability to multitask
• Excellent customer service
• Positive, team player attitude
• Open availability, 7 days per week
• Availability to work on weekends and some holidays
• Pass a pre-employment drug test

Responsibilities

• Preparation of events
• Assigning banquet staff to work areas
• Reevaluating staff distribution to ensure function set-up times are on track and ready as identified in the BEO
• Coordinating event conclusion timeline with Banquet Manager and outside vendors
• Conducting pre-shift meetings
• Executing events according to BEOs
• Ensuring bar and vendor timelines are followed
• Coordinating clean-up efforts
• Stepping into any banquet roles if needed
