About The Position

Kiawah Island Golf Resort is seeking a Banquet Bartender to join their team. This role involves opening and tending the bar for events, serving guests promptly and professionally, and maintaining bar cleanliness and organization. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of beverage service, understand banquet menus and event orders, and be able to communicate effectively with management and other departments. This position requires a positive attitude, the ability to think quickly under pressure, and knowledge of daily resort activities. The role also includes responsible service of alcohol and prepping for future events.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to mix and serve alcohol.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings, based on operation and event demands.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior bartending experience preferred.
  • Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service preferred.
  • TIPS training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Open the bar daily and serve as the bartender for the entirety of the event.
  • Serve and attend to all guests in a timely manner, while upholding KIGR standards of service at all times.
  • Ensure the bar is stocked and has everything needed during service to ensure the event runs smoothly (responsible for keeping up with garnishes, ice, clean glasses, etc).
  • Provide all guests with prompt and professional service.
  • Maintain bar cleanliness at all times during hours of operations by keeping all bar areas organized and uncluttered at all times.
  • Ensure the bar is attended to by a bartender, or a member of the management staff, at all times.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with guests and teammates at all times, and collaborate with other departments.
  • Maintain a positive environment through communication, partnerships and the sharing of resources.
  • Follow all safety and cleaning SOPs, including, but not limited to: empty trash containers before they reach the top.
  • Have a full understanding of all banquet menus and banquet event orders specified by a group.
  • Be organized, able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure.
  • Be knowledgeable of daily events and activities within the hotel and resort.
  • Follow directions and assignments given during daily line-ups.
  • Speak before large groups.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display.
  • Communicate with the manager/captain daily about guest interactions.
  • Prep for the next day according to the standard.
  • Responsible service of alcohol.
