About The Position

The Banquet and Catering Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during banquets, meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events. This position ensures event spaces are properly set up, guests receive courteous and efficient service, and all functions are executed according to established service standards.

Requirements

  • Previous banquet, catering, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service practices.

Responsibilities

  • Set up banquet and catering rooms according to event specifications and floor plans.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, linens, table settings, decorations, and service stations.
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are prepared and available before events begin.
  • Assist with transporting food, beverages, and event materials to designated locations.
  • Welcome guests in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Serve food and beverages according to banquet service standards.
  • Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service throughout each event.
  • Assist guests with questions and direct concerns to appropriate supervisors when necessary.
  • Serve plated meals, buffets, hors d’oeuvres, and beverages efficiently and professionally.
  • Refill beverages and replenish buffet items as needed.
  • Follow established portion control and presentation standards.
  • Ensure proper handling of food and beverages in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with banquet captains, catering managers, chefs, and event coordinators to ensure successful event execution.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces during service.
  • Monitor tables and service areas to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with special requests and last-minute event adjustments.
  • Remove dishes, glassware, linens, and equipment following event completion.
  • Reset rooms for future events as directed.
  • Store equipment and supplies properly.
  • Ensure banquet and storage areas remain clean and organized.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Adhere to alcohol service policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and service standards.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or equipment issues promptly.
