About The Position

A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate Attorney to join its Atlanta office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing debtors, secured lenders, creditors, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and distressed investors in sophisticated restructuring and insolvency matters.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, or creditors' rights experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience representing debtors, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, distressed investors, or official committees
  • Experience handling Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, workouts, reorganizations, and bankruptcy litigation
  • Experience drafting and negotiating restructuring agreements, financing documents, asset purchase agreements, bankruptcy pleadings, and other restructuring-related documents
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated restructuring matters while maintaining significant client interaction
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Georgia bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with creditor rights, distressed acquisitions, DIP financings, cash collateral matters, plan negotiations, and Section 363 sales is preferred
  • Experience practicing before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court is preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials

Responsibilities

  • Representing debtors, secured lenders, creditors, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and distressed investors in sophisticated restructuring and insolvency matters.
  • Handling Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, workouts, reorganizations, and bankruptcy litigation.
  • Drafting and negotiating restructuring agreements, financing documents, asset purchase agreements, bankruptcy pleadings, and other restructuring-related documents.
  • Independently managing sophisticated restructuring matters while maintaining significant client interaction.
