About The Position
Messerli Kramer is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with a blended background in both bankruptcy and commercial litigation to join our Litigation department. The successful candidate must have exceptional background in bankruptcy and creditor rights and commercial/business litigation. The firm has a hard-earned reputation within the business community of providing sound, reasoned and comprehensive legal services. Requirements
- Five years of experience dealing with complex business litigation with an emphasis in bankruptcy matters
- Experience representing financial institutions regarding bankruptcy and creditor rights disputes, recovering funds and assets
- Must have strong legal research, writing, and critical thinking ability
- Excellent verbal and written advocacy at motion hearings and trial
- Capacity to organize, prioritize and multi-task
- High academic achievement
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Highly professional with a strong customer service orientation, commitment to meeting deadlines, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong professional, independent thinking skills with strength in problem solving and the ability to offer constructive opinions and creative solutions
- A team player who motivates and educates other team members
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of five (5) years bankruptcy and commercial litigation experience, with the ability to focus on business development success, is preferred
Responsibilities
- Conducting discovery, including written and deposition discovery
- Mediating and negotiating case settlements
- Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs and other legal documents
