About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bankruptcy Associate to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies, including complex Chapter 11 cases. You will represent a diverse range of stakeholders and possess a strong background in workouts, restructurings, and asset protection strategies. This role requires proficiency in drafting various legal documents, providing courtroom support, and effectively communicating with clients, courts, and other legal professionals. A Texas Bar admission is required, along with excellent communication, judgment, and professionalism.

Requirements

Licensed to practice in Texas
Minimum 5 years practicing in the area of Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail oriented
Critical thinker
Excellent business judgment and high-level professionalism

Responsibilities

Represent a wide range of stakeholders, including secured creditors, unsecured creditors, committees, Chapter 7 trustees, and debtors.
Handle complex Chapter 11 matters.
Develop and implement workouts, restructurings, and asset protection strategies.
Review documents for distressed clients across multiple industries.
Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, proofs of claim, and other bankruptcy-related filings.
Provide courtroom support.
Attend creditor meetings.
Communicate effectively with Trustees, Bankruptcy Courts, Local Counsel, and Debtors’ Attorneys.
Build client relationships.
Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
