About The Position

This role involves supporting banking operations, primarily focusing on loan processing and customer interaction. The Banking Assistant will handle various administrative tasks related to loans, assist customers, and contribute to the efficient functioning of the loan department. The position also includes secondary responsibilities such as opening deposit accounts, processing debit card requests, and assisting with retail technological products. The role requires adherence to compliance procedures and may involve representing the bank at community events.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Coordinate with Loan Servicing Center to conduct UCC inquiries along with filing and satisfying UCC and mortgages.
  • Coordinate with the loan officer and Loan Servicing Center to manage Work Flow items including, but not limited to, UCC inquiries, scanning signed loan documents, indexing financial spreads, etc.
  • Prepare loan amortizations, correspondence letters, and loan file comments as directed by lending officer.
  • Accept, process, and check-back loan payments and loan advance requests.
  • Initiate wire transfers as needed.
  • Organize and maintain files following a loan documentation checklist to ensure all required documents and signatures are on file.
  • Assist in gathering financial statements, tax returns, income statements, credit reports and other documentation.
  • Input balance sheets and tax returns on the credit analysis software.
  • Assist in preparing credit presentation packages for loan committee.
  • Process annual loan reviews, including sending renewal packets to customers.
  • Provide back-up to Teller/Customer Service Representative responsibilities, including handling basic teller duties and dual control responsibilities.
  • Provide backup support for other areas as needed – receptionist, teller, etc.
  • Open and close all types of deposit accounts including checking, savings, certificates of deposits, IRA’s.
  • Process debit card requests – activate, close, delete, hot card, research customer issues and review reports.
  • Connect customers to Internet Banking and other Retail Technological Products and assist with related banking issues.
  • Assist Personal Bankers and Universal Bankers in scanning/indexing duties as needs arise.
  • Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required training.
  • Represent Bank at various civic and community events.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
