About The Position

Vice President (VP) Corporate Banker – Financial Institutions (FIG) Network Banking North America is a key professional responsible for driving the planning, execution, and growth of strategic initiatives for major Foreign Financial Institution clients operating in North America. Sitting directly under the Director/Head of FIG Network Banking North America, this role acts as a strategic partner, helping to design and execute client strategies while actively managing a portfolio of Foreign Financial Institution clients. The VP Banker will drive revenue by cross-selling the full Citi platform—including Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), Markets (FX, Rates, Derivatives), and Securities Services—while efficiently deploying the firm's capital, managing credit and lending approvals, and maintaining an exemplary risk and compliance posture.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, transaction banking, or financial institutions coverage (FIG).
  • Sound understanding of Corporate Banking business, capital markets products, derivatives, credit/lending processes, cash management, trade finance, and securities products.
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues, global/local regulatory requirements, and advanced Early Warning Detection skills.
  • Strong planning, negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills, with a proven ability to evaluate complex financial data and public filings.
  • Consistently demonstrate clear, concise, and persuasive written and verbal communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex strategic concepts into executive-ready presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting, under pressure, while making sound, risk-aware decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree / University degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • SIE, Series 79 and 63 licenses are preferred and will be required within 150 days of joining.
  • Master's / MBA degree in business, finance, international relations or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the Head of FIG Network Banking North America to formulate and execute coverage strategies, account planning, calling strategies, and client segmentation.
  • Evaluate public filings, research reports, macroeconomic trends, and financial forecasts to produce high-quality strategic and financial analyses that support portfolio growth.
  • Stay abreast of market and industry trends, regulatory shifts, and competitor activities within the FFI and correspondent banking landscape to identify new business opportunities.
  • Provide comprehensive relationship management support for a portfolio of foreign banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, and insurance companies.
  • Call on clients to deepen relationships, proactively uncover future needs, and provide strategic advisory services across TTS, Markets, and Capital Markets.
  • Coordinate closely with Global Banking parent coverage partners and Parent Account Managers to deliver a seamless, consistent "one-Citi" experience to foreign-parented institutions.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying client needs and cross-selling the full spectrum of Citi products, including cash management, trade finance, foreign exchange, debt capital markets (DCM), share repurchases, and interest rate/equity derivatives.
  • Assist in the efficient deployment of the firm's capital, navigating the lending and credit approval processes in alignment with Citi's return thresholds.
  • Work with product specialists and subject matter experts to structure innovative, customized solutions that address the unique liquidity, clearing, and investment needs of FFIs.
  • Work closely with onboarding managers to ensure flawless execution of "Know Your Client" (KYC) and other compliance deliverables, which are subject to heightened scrutiny in the Foreign Financial Institutions space.
  • Demonstrate an advanced level of Early Warning Detection skills to identify potential credit, operational, or reputational risks within the portfolio before they materialize.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
