About The Position

Assist in the daily operation of the branch under the supervision of the Branch Operations Manager within the guidance and directives as determined by Branch Administration. With prior banking experience, teller responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Processing paying and receiving transactions, preparing Cashier's Checks, and processing general ledger transactions. This role also involves processing internal and external customer transfer requests, safe deposit payments, and Stop Payment and Hold requests. Additionally, the Bank Teller II prepares closed account checklists, processes teller exchanges to/from the vault, and answers telephone inquiries. The position requires daily counting and balancing of the assigned teller drawer within approved limits, assisting in processing branch teller proof work (encoding and scanning), and preparing outgoing wire transfer requests for supervisor review. Further duties include assisting in preparing outgoing cash shipments and change orders, and vault transaction processing and balancing as assigned. Special projects and all other duties as trained and assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of banking functions as related to paying/receiving teller transactions and branch operations.
  • Ability to be effective within the daily branch operations functions with little supervision.
  • Ability to understand more complex banking terms and applications.
  • Ability to communicate procedures to entry level tellers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of products and services offered through the bank.
  • Must possess the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Exhibit the ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Must possess the ability to apply basic mathematical concepts, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and verbal instructions.
  • Able to understand and follow established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Possess advanced interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and take direction from supervisors and accept instruction or constructive criticism.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills such as friendliness, attentiveness, patience, courtesy, and empathy.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, both in person and on the telephone.
  • Working knowledge of computers and bank operating systems e.g., Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of banking experience in a branch environment.
  • At least one (1) continuous year as a paying/receiving teller working directly with the public.
  • Requires mental alertness.
  • Able to speak clearly and concisely when interacting with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Requires keen vision for long periods of time due to reading, writing and close work on computer screens.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 25 pounds or more.
  • A background check is required for this position.
