About The Position

Incodema3D is seeking a passionate, hands-on Bandsaw and Plate Resurfacing Technician to join their innovative machining team. This role is crucial for separating 3D-printed metal parts from build plates and preparing those plates for subsequent production cycles, requiring precision and care to prevent damage to high-value printed assets. This is a full-time role operating on a four-day work week (Wednesday–Saturday, 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.). The company emphasizes innovation and the power of its people in an inspiring work environment where contributions matter.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC operator or production bandsaw operator (or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on manufacturing experience).
  • Ability to operate CNC machinery, tooling, and precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, digital indicators).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and blueprints.
  • Practical math skills for calculating cutting feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
  • A strong work ethic, keen eye for detail, results-driven approach, and robust interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorization from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate specialized industrial horizontal or vertical bandsaws.
  • Secure complex, heavy build plates to saw fixtures using linear guides and clamping devices to ensure reproducible cuts.
  • Monitor blade wear and adjust speeds/feeds for varying aerospace-grade metals (e.g., Inconel, Titanium, Stainless Steel, Aluminum).
  • Properly account for saw kerf to leave exact base material for final machining.
  • Operate CNC mills, rotary surface grinders, or lapping machines to resurface used build plates.
  • Utilize micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to ensure strict flatness tolerances and correct surface roughness for initial layer print adhesion.
  • Remove residual support structures, dross, and spatter from plates post-sawing.
  • Inspect cut parts and resurfaced plates for cracks, warping, or structural damage.
  • Maintain accurate logs of build plate cycles, material types, saw usage, and maintenance records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace while handling materials safely.
