About The Position

Position is responsible for reading route cards and/or sketches to cut wood or veneer parts to shape or pattern using a bandsaw. Cuts to line and holds cut to close tolerance + 1/32. Makes basic visual inspection of parts discarding those with obvious defects. Stacks parts and cuts more than one at a time when possible. Creates own forms, patterns and jigs as needed from scratch wood to complete task. Changes saw blades and does preventive maintenance as required. Sets up bandsaw with forms, guides and blades as needed to run specific parts. Observes plant safety rules. Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous bandsaw experience required
Must be able to read a ruler
