About The Position

The banding line operator oversees the accurate packaging of all coils processed by the slitters on the banding line. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, attendance policies, and the packaging schedule. The operator is responsible for efficiently operating automatic banders, providing guidance to support personnel, and training line helpers in equipment operation. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High school education or GED required.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on your feet on a concrete floor for the entire shift.
• Ability to effectively communicate with others.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and operating machinery.
• Capacity to endure repetitive tasks and maintain focus for extended periods.
• Ability to hear warning signals and communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
• Clear vision is necessary to inspect materials and read text, gauges and instruments accurately.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during operations.
• Capable of making quick decisions to optimize processes and minimize downtime.
• Effective communication is essential for coordinating with team members and reporting any issues promptly.
• Maintain orderly work areas and adhere to production schedules.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to obtain a hi-lo license.

Responsibilities

• Abides by the packaging schedule as instructed by the supervisor.
• Operates automatic banders efficiently.
• Provides guidance to support personnel as needed.
• Trains line helpers in equipment operation for their designated tasks on the automated banding line.
• Other duties as assigned.
