About The Position
Music & Arts is seeking provisional band teachers, including substitutes, for its Music Education Services department. The role provides music instruction as needed at schools served by the organization, filling in when Music Educators are unavailable because of illness or an unfilled schedule. The position is limited to a maximum of 20–24 hours per week. Candidates should be passionate about teaching music and bring a high level of energy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education.
- Valid state driver’s license and automotive insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Some teaching experience is preferred.
- Applicable state teaching license.
Responsibilities
- Stand in as the teacher for music classes when Music Educators are unavailable.
- Assist with student recruitment or after-school events as needed.
- Prepare or follow lesson plans for teaching days.
- Provide student progress reports when required, including student attendance.
- Maintain quality relationships with school administrators and principals.
- Coordinate with Music Educators to participate in their concerts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
