About The Position

The Edmonds School District is seeking certificated teachers for continuing contract positions at Lynnwood High School for the 2026-27 school year. The available positions include Band and Orchestra (1.0 FTE) covering Concert/Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert/Symphonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble 1. Additionally, there is a Jazz and Guitar (0.3 FTE) position, which includes Jazz Ensemble 2 (0.2 FTE) and Guitar (0.1 FTE). Lynnwood High School offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on college and career readiness, with options for Advanced Placement courses, College in the High School dual-enrollment, and a Career and Technical Education program. The school serves over 1,300 students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, with an administration that prioritizes equity, relationship building, and restorative practices. Requirements

  • Washington State Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Instrumental Music, or the ability to obtain the needed qualifications prior to the position start date.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Concert/Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert/Symphonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble 1.
  • Teach Jazz Ensemble 2 and Guitar.
  • Engage and support all students in learning.
  • Create learning environments that promote student autonomy, interaction, competence and choice.
  • Meet the diverse needs of students, including making reasonable accommodations for individual cognitive, physical, emotional and social needs.
  • Promote high standards of learning for all students.
  • Communicate high standards to all students.
  • Assist students who need physical support or exhibit challenging behaviors.
  • Communicate with others regularly.
