About The Position

Sweetwater, the #1 online retailer of pro-audio and musical instruments, is seeking to add a Band Instrument Repair Technician to our growing Band & Orchestra team. As a Band Instrument Repair Technician, you will be able to identify problems and complete rental refurbishment independently on the 5 main rental instrument types. The technician will be able to play test the 5 main rental instrument types at a middle school student level and will perform individual repair tasks consistently at the shop rate with excellent quality. As a Repair Technician, you will interact with Service Orders and update Service Order locations.

Requirements

• Knowledge of repair procedures and techniques and play testing band instruments
• Ability to play test multiple instruments at a high school or college level
• 1 year of a band repair training course or equivalent training experience
• Diploma from an accredited repair school or instrument training program or equivalent apprenticeship training in instrument repair from an experienced technician or a reputable music company
• Relocation to our state-of-the-art campus in Fort Wayne, IN is required.

Responsibilities

• Repair flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, and trombones in our rental inventory
• Follow proper inventory control procedures and interact with 4D software
• Assist with training inspection team members or rental operations team members on simple tasks like cleaning rental mouthpieces
• Other duties as required such as shop cleaning, organization of parts, and maintaining tools
• Play test instruments to identify issues before and after repair
